CleanStart at the Social Impact Trade Show

On April 25, 2025, CleanStart Property Services had the privilege of participating in the Social Impact Trade Show, hosted by Destination Vancouver in partnership with Buy Social Canada and Indigenous Tourism BC. Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, this inspiring event brought together social enterprises, Indigenous-owned businesses, and socially responsible purchasers from across the city to connect, collaborate, and drive meaningful economic change.

The afternoon began with opening remarks from Vancouver City Councillor Rebecca Bligh, who emphasized the importance of social procurement and community-focused partnerships in building a resilient and inclusive local economy. Short presentations followed from Indigenous Tourism BC, Buy Social Canada, and Destination Vancouver, each highlighting the power of working with businesses that prioritize social and environmental impact alongside economic success.

Throughout the day, CleanStart had the opportunity to meet with Destination Vancouver members and other forward-thinking organizations committed to diversifying their supply chains and supporting businesses that make a difference. We were thrilled to share our story — from our commitment to paying a living wage, to our recycling and donation initiatives, to our partnerships with Indigenous housing organizations and non-profits.

Why Events Like This Matter
Participating in the Social Impact Trade Show reaffirmed why social procurement is so vital. When organizations choose to work with social enterprises like CleanStart, they aren’t just buying a service — they’re investing in communities, creating job opportunities for those facing barriers to employment, and promoting environmental stewardship. It’s about building a local economy where every dollar spent can have a ripple effect of positive change.

Looking Ahead
We want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and shared ideas. The connections we made at the trade show are invaluable, and we’re excited about the partnerships and collaborations to come. Together, we can continue to strengthen Vancouver’s social economy and make a lasting impact.

If you’re interested in learning more about how partnering with CleanStart can help your organization meet its social procurement goals, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s create positive change — together.
